Got back to gd ole SG last nit past 12... nice of Al & Jeannie to pick us up.. Lots of reflections for this trip... something that is v.different from a normal hol. trip I guess.. Definitely diff from my last Bangkok trip..

+ I went to Laos.. in total attended 2 weddings.. 1st one in Bangkok.. n the 2nd in Laos.

Took 3 different airlines namely Jetstar, Airasia (domestic fr BKK to Udon Thani) and Thai. Part of the traveling done on a pickup/lorry (couldn't quite figure tt out) too.. fr Udon to Nong Kai.. past the borders, over the Friendship Bridge (which is donated by the French.. almost everything is donated in Laos btw) to bumpy dusty Laos.. which is still not too bad.. hee..

Stayed in a bungalow, a junior suite at Novotel and finally a suite/apartment at Sofitel...

Too bad the massages are all at the front part of the holiday when we badly need one at the end of it.. Last 2 nights over at Bangkok were too rush n thats the only time we get to really shop. Managed to get a tunic n a dress which I really like... plus a pants suit n shirts which I'm gonna need for wk. Got NARS Orgasm too!. real lite.. like it.. plus we visited almost all the Boots in town.. looking for tampons.. cos they r gd n so cheep!>.. but for some reasons, they are all sold out exp for that few boxs tt we manage to savage.. n its not enough to split haa..

Found my fav. store.. this 2-storey lil' shop tucked in the maze of siam square. Piles n piles of fabric!.. my.. I love fabrics... and they are all individual pieces!... not sure if they are all local designer stuff but would like to think so... given the price!.. They even have a lil cafe, a manicure palor, a room for hair dressing and one more for massage!... all in the midst of piles of clothes!.. too bad I forgot to snap some pics.. cos even the cloth that is used at the hairdresser... erm the one that they place in front of u like a bib.. is unique!!

--> I left that place without gettin anything though.. cos #1: We are really short of time.. being the last day before we have to head to the new airport (which is really like a warehouse cos its huge n incomplete).. no time to flip tru all the hills of clothes..
#2: the prices can kill me... not tt I've not overspent for this trip...

But I'm so definitely gettin back there the next time round.. when I have earned enough .. n when I can getaway again., hopefully before June next year.
Haa.. the email which Ivy forwarded me.. showing all the hols that can be taken with a min. of off days utilized might come in handy afterall... hmmm..

Speaking of which.. Ivy's bdae coming!!.. That calls for a celebration... if the dear gers can find time..

Oh n for today.. I started watching OC.. ya ya I know.. everyone has like watched through that.. and I'm only starting to catch that now?.. haa.. ya.. din get to watch much TV lol.. But got tru' 10 or so esp. and I like it!.. love the pool house.. love the infinite pool.. just give me tt plus the pool house n a nice cosy kitchen will do heh.. I dun even need the living room.. c.. not greedy.

Talking abt home decor.. I got back a painting from Laos.. painted by a Vietiamese. A gift from Ching's uncle.. Chris. Done by a student.. for charity.. and I like it.. cos its simple.. few strokes.. not to mention the paper tt its done on.
Got to really really thank Chris for this whole trip.. he provided so much for us! n I'm just lucky to tag along hee..
Met Karen, the Singapore Ambassador to Laos and she was a really impressive and nice lady.. Love her house there too.. a bit too big for me if I were to have it all to myself.. but the decor is exquisite.
And a whole bunch of other Singaporeans there too.. the young ones fr NAFA for volunteer wk with the local sch, a few other diplomats and even a professional golfer.. dun ask me why he's there..
Oh there is this nice art cafe.. n also an interesting eating place.. that u get to dine in lil huts built over the river.
Sunset by the Mekong river was great too..

Thanks to Tanik n Viroge too.. that I get to experience my first ever Thai wedding... over at the Hindu temple and the house ceremonies.. hectic though.. n tiring cos the ceremonies starts at 3am.. Lots of photos n videos.. left with them.. n they should be at Maldives now.. So I guess I got to wait awhile before they can sent my photos to me.

This trip is such an eye-opener.. n really intriguing. Now, back to Planet LIFE.. boo hoo..
